INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Galena Creek Visitor Center

Stormi Noll, ESIA employee in Carson City Ranger Station, will be providing an interpretive program on Saturday, September 15, 2:00 p.m. at the Galena Creek Visitor Center. Stormi will discuss where meteorologists obtain the information for forecasts and the tools and models used in building forecasts. An activity on surface weather map interpretation will take place and the talk will end with discussing local weather phenomenon and why it is sometimes difficult to forecast weather east of the Sierra. More information can be found at the Galena Creek Visitor Center.

Mammoth Storytelling Festival

Jeff Gabriel, ESIA Executive Director, will be one of the storytellers transporting its audience to a less hectic time.... a time when families sat together and enjoyed spoken entertainment for all ages. A time when yarns from the past were as fun as Pokémon Go. With the Sherwin Range towering in the distance, this event at the "Temple of Folly" tent on the museum grounds will present tall tales and music next to quaking autumn aspens. Jeff Gabriel will be Fr John Crowley again this year. For more information, click Hayden Cabin Museum. The Mammoth Storytelling Festival will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
